This course is offered subject to minimum registration numbers.

This course teaches a basic ‘survival’ repertoire of spoken Chinese and introduces some central aspects of Chinese culture, including the writing system. As much use as possible is made of authentic materials.

Date, Time, and Place

The course runs for 24 weeks (two-hour classes once a week) spread over two terms – Michaelmas term (starting September) and Hilary term (starting January).

Classes will take place in-person on Mondays between 6:30pm-8:30pm in the Centre for Language and Communication Studies, Arts Building, Trinity College, Dublin 2.

Course Fees

€395 full rate.

There is also a concession rate available to all those retired, over 65s, and those on a government pension / payment plan and the unwaged, including second- and third-level students. Please contact clcsinfo@tcd.ie for more information.

This fee is strictly non-refundable once the course has commenced.

Applications opens in August 2024. You must be 18 years of age or older to enroll in the School of Linguistic, Speech, and Communications Sciences evening courses.
