This course is offered subject to minimum registration numbers.

There are more than 300 million Arabic speakers across the world, predominantly living in the Middle East and North Africa. The language has been used to produce literature, music, and art of immense beauty, but it also has deep significance in our world today in both current events and as one of the six official languages of the United Nations.

The Department of Near Middle Eastern Studies in the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies offers beginners Arabic language and culture course. This course is developed in accordance with the provisions of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Date, Time, and Place

Each course runs for 22 weeks (two-hour classes once a week) spread over two terms – Michaelmas term (starting late September) and Hilary term (starting January).

Classes will take place in-person on Trinity campus.

Course Fees

€660 is the full-year rate. Payment by instalments of €350 per term is also possible.

This fee is non-refundable once the course has commenced.

Apply

You must be 18 years of age or older to enrol in the School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultural Studies evening courses.

Intake of students will not be available in January unless applicants have necessary language levels to join a continuing group and with permission of the instructor and School administration.
