Dual BA Program between Trinity College Dublin and Columbia University
The Dual BA between Trinity College Dublin and Columbia University allows Classics, Ancient History and Archaeology (CLAHA) students to study at two world-leading universities.
Dual BA students engage deeply with their chosen academic subject from the outset of their time in Dublin. After two years at Trinity, they transition to Columbia, where they benefit from the breadth of the US curricular model, taking classes from the Columbia Core curriculum. Students are full members of both university communities throughout the four years of the programme and graduate with a degree from each university.
Students taking the Classics, Ancient History and Archaeology Dual degree may choose from flexible pathways. These comprise dual or single language study in Latin and/or ancient Greek, together with a range of other modules. In Junior Fresh the modules on offer include Greek and Roman history, art and architecture, mythology and religion, reading and writing about ancient literature, and sources and methods in ancient history and archaeology.
In the second Senior Fresh year, students – depending on their interests – may focus on developing their language skills, engaging with ancient literature, or deepening their understanding of ancient history and archaeology.
