Research
Classics is an inherently multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary field, embracing Greek and Roman history, languages, literature, art, archaeology, philosophy and reception studies. Our research ranges across and between all these subdisciplines. All members of the Department are active in research and publication. We hold a fortnightly research seminar during term, which offers a forum for staff, postgraduates and postdoctoral fellows to discuss their current research with each other, and to engage with invited speakers from Ireland, the UK and beyond. We have strong links with the Trinity Long Room Hub, and contribute to several of the College Research Themes, especially Digital Humanities, Identities in Transformation and Manuscript, Book and Print Cultures.
