Congratulations to the Classics Scholars 2020!
In the first ever live-streaming of Trinity Monday celebrations on 20 April 2020, the Provost announced the names of the new Scholars. Warmest congratulations to our three Classics Scholars: Aisling Foley Rooney (Classical Civilisation and History), Michael MacNulty (SH Classics), and Claire Morgan-Busher (AHA and Latin). A well deserved recognition that makes us proud.
Provost Thomas N. Mitchell Ussher Fellowship in Classics
The Department of Classics is delighted to announce that the Provost Thomas N. Mitchell Ussher Fellowship is open for applications from students intending to begin doctoral research in 2020 in any area of Classics, including Latin and/or Greek language, ancient literature, history, archaeology, philosophy, anthropology and reception. The fellowship covers fees at EU rates and provides a stipend of €13 000 per annum, and is tenable for a maximum of 4 years.

Ferrar Memorial Studentship in Ancient Philology
The Department of Classics is delighted to announce that the Ferrar Memorial Studentship will be awarded in 2019 for research in the field of ancient philology (for example, Latin, Greek, Historical Linguistics). The studentship is worth €14 000 per annum, and is tenable for a maximum of 4 years.
Another strong performance from Trinity Classics in the 2019 QS World University Subject Rankings
The Department of Classics was ranked a phenomenal 13th place worldwide in the recent QS subject rankings, a jump of 15 places since 2018 and the highest ranking for any subject in any Irish university.
2018 Stanford Memorial Lectures
The 2018 Stanford Memorial Lectures will be delivered on 31 October, 1 November and 2 November by Dr Jenny Bryan of the University of Manchester.
