Dr. Vivek Singh is an environmental engineer and remote sensing & GIS specialist. He works with Prof. Patrick Morrissey on ‘Evaluating the vulnerability of aquifer recharge to changing climate across Ireland’ at Trinity College Dublin in the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering. His academic journey began with a Bachelor’s in Environmental Engineering from Uttar Pradesh Technical University (Lucknow), a Master’s, and a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad. His research focuses on surface water hydrology, predicting land-use change, multi-criteria decision analysis, and applying remote sensing to sustainable management practices.

Throughout his career, Vivek has developed and applied advanced geospatial models, such as GIS-based Markov Chain and neural network models, to address urban development challenges. Beyond research, Vivek is actively engaged in technical training and has conducted workshops on open-source remote sensing data analysis using Google Earth Engine.
