Dr. Neda Nikou

Research Fellow

Biography

Dr Neda Nikou is a Research Fellow in Energy and the Environment at the Dept of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering at Trinity College Dublin. Her research interests involve Computational Hydraulics, Water and Wastewater treatment and Renewable Energy. She modeled Laminar and turbulent flow inside the cavity and vortex settling basins by applying Large Eddy Simulation, and Reynolds Averaged Navier−Stokes methods. For the past four years, she has worked as a researcher and MSc Advisor performing experimental and numerical modeling and specialist in drinking water allocation projects. In addition, she has a teaching experience in Fluid Mechanics, Hydraulics, Numerical methods in Hydraulic Engineering, CFD (Computational fluid Dynamics). She is the reviewer of the Journals such as Environmental Earth Sciences (Springer), Irrigation and Drainage Engineering (ASCE), Hydraulic Engineering (ISH), and Water and Soil (Iranian Journal). At the moment, she is a lead researcher for the REHEATS project, supervised by   Professor Aonghus Mc Nabola
