Research Fellow

Dr. Benjamin Obe is a Research Fellow in the Department of Civil, Structural, and Environmental Engineering at Trinity College Dublin. Holding a PhD in Geography from University College Dublin and a Master's degree in Meteorology and Climate Science. His research focuses on climate risk assessment, specifically on high-resolution intra-urban heat island assessment and heat risk implications. His research interest includes studies on numerical modelling and geospatial analysis of climate dynamics at various scales, understanding the risks associated with climate change and climate extremes, urban, ecosystems and critical infrastructures vulnerability, and co-designing sustainable adaptation measures through parametric studies and multi-stakeholder and community engagement. Currently, Benjamin is involved in an Environmental Protection Agency funded interdisciplinary project (CLIMECO) supervised by Dr. Julie Clarke. The project aims to assesses the Climate risk and costs of climate change impacts across various
sectors in Ireland and develops an economic decision-making framework for adaptation
planning.

Benjamin has been part of multi-disciplinary teams working on different Climate change impact projects including the terrain ai (https://terrainai.com/index.php/team/), heatADAPT, HOLOS IE and WECOADAPT.
