Dr. Afaq Khattak is a Research Fellow in the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering at Trinity College Dublin. He holds a Ph.D. in Traffic Engineering from Southwest Jiaotong University, China. Dr. Afaq completed his first postdoctoral research at Tongji University, Shanghai, where he worked on a project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, focusing on wind shear and aviation turbulence assessment at Hong Kong International Airport.
Currently, his research is centered on the Irish Car Stock Model (RATE) project, funded by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI). His research interests and expertise include Traffic and Transportation Engineering, Artificial Intelligence in Transportation, and Sustainable Transportation Systems.
