D-Real Projects Open For Applications

Professor Sam Cromie and Dr. Chiara Leva from The Centre for Innovative Human Systems are accepting applications for a project entitled Inclusive Multimodal HMI to enhance the wellbeing of Older Drivers.
Description:
Transport will be transformed within the coming years through automated, connected and electric vehicles. Much research is focused on HMI for these vehicles – how transitions between driver and automation will be handled at different levels of automation, how driver situational awareness can be maintained, how interaction with vulnerable road users can be managed. This project will focus on the older driver. The research will adopt a user-centred design approach to build on our recent research within TCD which profiled older drivers, segmented them for research purposes and developed personae to inform design.
