MSc in Accounting and Analytics

The MSc in Accounting and Analytics is a full-time, twelve-month programme designed for students who want to develop expertise in both accounting and data analytics. Building on the Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Accounting, it incorporates advanced analytical tools, financial modelling, and data-driven decision-making techniques that are highly sought after in the accounting and finance sectors.

The MSc in Accounting and Analytics includes all core modules from the PGDip, covering financial reporting, taxation, audit, and financial management. In the final semester, MSc students complete Analytics for Accounting, a Capstone module delivered in collaboration with Deloitte. This module focuses on applying advanced data analytics, AI, and automation to real-world financial and business challenges, culminating in an executive report rather than a traditional dissertation.

The MSc in Accounting and Analytics is currently under review for exemptions from professional bodies such as ACCA, Chartered Accountants Ireland, and CIMA. Based on the PGDip’s track record, similar exemptions are expected.

Students applying for the 2025/26 academic year can still choose the eight-month PGDip in Accounting if they prefer a shorter pathway. However, the PGDip will be phased out after 2026, with the MSc in Accounting and Analytics becoming the primary offering.

This programme prepares graduates for careers in accounting, financial analysis, consulting, and analytics-driven roles, equipping them with the skills needed to succeed in top firms and global organisations.
