Biography

Laura is a Costa Rican leader with 20 years of experience driving complex strategic, innovative initiatives and digital transformations for strategic growth for Fortune 500 companies such as McKinsey & Company, the LEGO Group, and Western Union. Her collaborative approach, leadership and strategic focus connect people, planet, and business needs to deliver impactful and sustainable solutions for all.

 

Beyond her professional endeavours, Laura actively advocates for social impact. She serves as an Advisory Board member for Lillypad, a non-profit organisation led by Gen Z students committed to social impact. She is an external advisor for 10 in 10, an organisation dedicated to addressing ten global challenges in ten years, beginning with climate change. She is also a strategic advisor to the founder of Harvie, a start-up aiming to democratise employment and digitise end-to-end recruiting processes.

 

Laura holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the Universidad de Costa Rica, an MBA from Trinity College Dublin, and has pursued multiple studies on innovative technologies (AI, Metaverse), DEI, and Design and Innovation from renowned institutions such as MIT, IDEO and the Royal College of Art in London.

 

In 2023, Laura became an Antarctica Ambassador and embarked on an expedition to Antarctica as part of a Sustainable leadership program with 100 women and non-binary people in STEM to explore, design, and define projects to improve the planet. This year, she will join the Hearts in the Ice Climate Conference in Longyearbyen, followed by a 4-day Arctic voyage in Svalbard to further define ways to continue tackling sustainability opportunities.

 

Laura brings a unique perspective and blend of strategic thinking, design expertise, and a passion for social impact to the board.
