Ruairi Quinn

Biography

During his thirty years as a member of Dáil Éireann, Ruairi Quinn was a member of Government and Cabinet Minister in the following departments: Labour, Public Service, Enterprise and Employment, Finance and Education and Skills.

During that time as a Cabinet Minister, Ruairi was responsible for Ireland’s Presidency of the
European Union.

He has also written a memoir, Straight Left:A Journey in Politics

Since retiring from Dáil Éireann, he has become the Chairperson of the Institute for International and European Affairs, Irelands foremost Think Tank. He was one of its founding members, in 1991.
