Pongsakorn Kunasit (Cesar)

Pongsakorn Kunasit (Cesar) who comes from Thailand graduated from Khon Kaen University, Thailand, with B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Biology. He is fascinated by plant taxonomy and systematics. He previously worked on the pollen morphology of Sapotaceae in Thailand. He joins the Botany Department as a PhD student in September 2022 under the supervision of Prof. Trevor Hodkinson and he is awarded a scholarship funded by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. His PhD project focuses on the taxonomy and systematics of Malvaceae-Grewioideae-Grewieae in Mainland South East Asia. This aims to provide the new taxonomic revision, the morphological and phylogenetic relationships, as well as the biogeography of the species existing in the area of study.
