Kes Daly

Kes Daly graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a MSc in Biodiversity and Conservation in 2022, having previously completed her undergraduate degree in Botany in TCD also. Kes then took some time away from academia to work in industry, before working as a Research Assistant in UCD studying photosynthetic metabolite exchange. Kes started her PhD in 2024 under the supervision of Prof. Trevor Hodkinson. Her research will investigate the use of High-Throughput Sequencing (HTS) in detecting plant nursery pathogens, particularly focussing on the pathogens Phytophthora and Pseudomonas on the hardy ornamental species Rhododendron and Prunus. The project is funded by the Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine (DAFM).
