Optional: Advanced Gradebook Training Session

The Advanced Gradebook session takes approximately one hour. As a prerequisite for this session, you must complete Step 1: Ultra Essentials Training Session, Step 2: Assessment & Gradebook Training Session and the Migration Workshop.  You can complete this training by either attending an online or in-person training session OR completing self-paced training.

Irrespective of the method you choose, please ensure that you complete the Task: Advanced Gradebook Completion Confirmation within the self-paced training module once you have completed this training session. We will collect and share details of your training progress and migration preparation with your School management and the Blackboard Ultra Upgrade project team so you can be contacted for further information and reminders as necessary.

Learning Objectives

On completing this session, participants will have an in-depth knowledge of the Blackboard Ultra Gradebook and understand how they can use advanced functionality within it. 

What will be covered: 

1. Settings – users will understand key settings available in the Gradebook. 
2. Categories – users will understand how they can use categories to group markable items in the Gradebook and how they can create their own categories. 
3. Creating Non-Linked Gradable Items – users will be able to create non-linked gradable items in the Gradebook.  
4. Setting up Overall Mark – users will know how to set up an optional overall mark for their module. 
5. Viewing Student Information – users will learn how they can view relevant student information related to grading. 
6. Accommodations – users will know how to grant accommodations to students who require additional time to complete assessments.
