At TBSI we seek to develop strategic relationships of mutual benefit with partner institutions that are of scale and significance and that lead to the production of internationally leading research with real scientific, societal and economic impact.
TBSI is home to 75 Principal Investigators and over 550 researchers, all working towards discoveries of direct relevance to human diseases in a multi-disciplinary environment. Recent years have seen strong funding growth (research awards in excess of €Xm since 2011) and important discoveries in areas such as cancer, asthma, Type-2 diabetes, Age-related macular degeneration and infectious diseases such as hepatitis C and motor neuron disease. Over the last 10 years over 1600 research papers have come from TBSI and these have been published in journals of the highest rank internationally, including Nature, Science, Cell, Nature Medicine, Nature Immunology, Nature Neuroscience and The Lancet.
