MSc in Biomedical Engineering 25th Anniversary
The MSc in Biomedical Engineering at Trinity College Dublin is celebrating its 25th Year this spring with the 25th cohort of graduates from this programme.
Established in 1999 as the ‘All Ireland MSc in BioEngineering’; this programme between Trinity College Dublin, University of Limerick, University College Dublin, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and the University of Ulster- Jordanstown, was a strategic response to the rapid growth of biomedical engineering and medical device industry in Ireland.
In response to the increasing demands of industry and growth of the discipline, Trinity established the MSc in BioEngineering in 2012 which is now known as the MSc in Biomedical Engineering. For over ten years, the MSc in BioEngineering was partner of the EIT-Funded Common European Master’s Course in Biomedical Engineering (CEMACUBE); a 2-year, full-time master's programme (120 ECTS), involving 5 universities: UG Groningen, UGent Ghent, TCD Dublin, RWTH Aachen, CTU Prague. Hundreds of Bio(medical) Engineers have successfully graduated from this programme contributing towards this sector both nationally and internationally in industry, academic, regulatory and clinical settings.
To mark this significant milestone, we invite you to a celebration of our programme in a special event bringing together its founders and staff, collaborators and alumni. We have purposely chosen April 15th at 5:30pm in Trinity College Dublin as this will coincide with the commencement ceremony of our 25th generation of graduates and include an evening of history and evolution, memories, challenges and successes, and the outlook of the programme for impact in the future.
