The School of Social Work and Social Policy will host two events with Professor Mario Pansera. A Public Lecture and discussion, and a lunchtime Seminar. Professor Pansera is the Head of the Post-Growth Lab at the University of Vigo in Spain.

Professor Pansera will discuss the Lab as an international, interdisciplinary group driven by a common research interest of enabling a sustainable, inclusive, and fair ecological transition away from the exploitative economic model that exists today. Along with the focus on post-growth and degrowth, the unit runs research projects on cooperativism and social economy, grassroots movements, responsible innovation and the politics of it. The seminar is also an invitation to a discussion on the applicability of such an approach in the Irish context. Light lunch provided.
