On 18 March 2025, Dr Bronagh Ćatibušić (School of Linguistic, Speech and Communication Sciences) launched a report on the Nurturing Networks research project which investigated community connections with people who have experienced forced displacement, exploring how these may support social inclusion. This project was funded by the TRiSS Academic Research Fellowship Award, and its findings were presented as part of the SLSCS Linguistic Research Seminar Series.

The research involved focus groups with people from displaced backgrounds who attended English conversation classes organised in Trinity College Dublin through the University of Sanctuary initiative, and volunteers who delivered these classes. It also included interviews with participants from organisations working in the fields of integration support, volunteering, education, and the arts. The study focused on issues relating to language learning, access to education and employment, accommodation, and cultural engagement.

The report launch, which was held in the TRiSS Seminar Room, was attended by academics, students, people from displaced backgrounds, and representatives of community-based organisations. The event also included the display and creation of art by Tetiana Horbenko, a Ukrainian artist living in Ireland, whose artwork features in the report.
