Book Launch: Women’s Historical Fiction Across the Globe, co-edited by Catherine Barbour and Karunika Kardak.

Congratulations to Dr Catherine Barbour, Department of Hispanic Studies, on the launch of her book.

On 12 February 2025 Catherine Barbour and Mariana Villegas Triay (Department of Hispanic Studies) launched the edited volume Women’s Historical Fiction Across the Globe (Palgrave Macmillan 2025, ed. by Catherine Barbour and Karunika Kardak) at the Trinity Centre for Literary and Cultural Translation. The book examines how women writers of historical novels in diverse linguistic and cultural contexts utilise the genre to unearth women’s historical experiences and challenge colonial, heteropatriarchal ‘official’ histories.
