As announced in Budget 2025, there will be a €1,000 reduction in the student contribution fee. This will be available to all registered Higher Education Authority (HEA) eligible undergraduate students in the academic year 2024/25.
Students that paid 100% of the student contribution fund (student contribution charge - €3,000) on registration will receive a refund of €1,000:
- Card payments will be refunded directly onto the card used to make the payment.
- Students should update their bank account details via their my tcd.ie portal to facilitate EFT payments.
- To see how you can add your bank details through the my.tcd.ie portal please watch our video here.
Refunds will be processed to students who have paid the student contribution fee in full during registration.
Refunds will be processed in coming weeks and completed by November 30th 2024.
If SUSI is partially funding the student contribution fee (i.e., 50%), students will be eligible for the balance (i.e., 50% of the student contribution fee reduction – €500 – to be offset against any outstanding student contribution fee balance, thereby reducing the student's student contribution fee liability to €1,000).
If SUSI is funding 100% of the student contribution fee, then no refund or credit is required as there is no liability to the student.
Students who opted for 'Pay by Instalment' will not receive a refund, instead the credit is available for offset against student contribution fee liability.
Students have the option of using credit balances on their account for offset against liabilities on this account (e.g. accommodation charges etc).
Student can view their statement of account via their my tcd.ie portal at any time.
