This project partners staff and mentors with students to position ePortfolio as an approach to assess the competencies of future health care professionals by exploring how student-constructed ePortfolio might enable assessment of competencies for students on placement in Pharmacy, Medicine, and Dentistry programmes.
The approach builds on a 2021 initiative wherein two pharmacy students collaborated with mentors to explore how ePortfolio might effectively address learning and competence/ competencies assessment challenges associated with placements. (Roche et al, 2021). Key recommendations included that showcase ePortfolio showcase events can be highly motivating for all partners (Roche et al, 2022).
This event showcases 4th year pharmacy student experiential placement(s). Future events will showcase other disciplines in the project. Acknowledgement: FHS Deans’ innovation award 2021-22 Dean's Awards for Innovation in Teaching in 2021-22, Trinity College Dublin.
