Suspensions and Cessations of Current Trinity Electives
Once a Trinity Elective is approved, it must run for a minimum of four years. After this period, proposals can be made to cease or suspend a Trinity Elective. Requests for cessation or suspension must be supported by the Head of School and presented to the TESC and USC before being considered by the University Council for a final decision. Significant justification is required for any request to suspend or cease a Trinity Elective.
Proposals to cease or suspend a Trinity Elective must be approved at the latest at the last TESC meeting in February to take effect in the following academic year. Module Coordinators, School Managers and Heads of School will be asked each year in January to submit changes in the Elective Offer for the upcoming Academic Year.
The designated form for ceasing or suspending a Trinity Elective can be found below and questions can be sent to Academic Affairs at tesubcommittee@tcd.ie. Please ensure the completed form is submitted to Academic Affairs two weeks before the next Committee meeting.
