Update from College Secretary and Director of College Health Service to staff and students
28 May 2021
Dear students and colleagues,
This evening the Government will announce plans for the reopening of indoor hospitality, live events and international travel. These plans, along with the recent easing of restrictions and the roll out of the vaccination programme, show that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
In the meantime, we would like to reiterate that itis very important that we should all, including Schools and Units, continue to adhere to the public health restrictions put in place under Level 5, as long as we remain in Level 5.
Working from home
Staff who are working from home should continue to do so, if possible. This is the case even if you have been vaccinated with a first or second vaccination. It is a safer approach for the Trinity community, as per Government guidelines. Only staff and students who need to come onto campus for essential purposes should do so.
This includes:
· Residents
· Essential researchers (as submitted by Head of School/Unit)
· Students with pre-booked time slot in the Libraries/study spaces/student breakout spaces/The Buttery
· Students with a timetabled in person teaching event
· Essential staff (as submitted by Head of School/Unit)
· Pre-approved visitor.
Keep your guard up!
Please continue to adhere to public health guidelines of wearing face coverings, restricting social gatherings, social distancing, and hand washing etc. Even with a first or second vaccination there is still a risk of getting and/or transmitting COVID-19, albeit a much-reduced risk. No vaccine is 100% effective. We need to continue to protect each other.
Stay safe. Stay well. Bígí slán agus sábháilte.
Kind regards,
John Coman, Secretary to the College
