Update from College Secretary and Director of Student Services to staff and students
6 November 2020
Dear students and colleagues
As the TCDSU Mental Health Week draws to an end, we would like to highlight the importance of looking after yourselves and others during the current Level 5 situation. Times such as these are stressful for many people, and uncertainty makes this worse.
Mind. Body. Boost.
Mind. Body. Boost. is a free four-week pilot programme for students run by Trinity Sport and the Student Counselling Service which involves 30-minute mental health and wellbeing sessions followed by 30 minutes of exercise. The sessions will take place via Zoom on 23 and 30 November, 7 and 14 December from 6-7pm. You can register your interest hereReporting a case of COVID-19
All students who are diagnosed with a positive case of COVID-19 must notify their Course Director. Doing so enables College to identify clusters and take measures to protect other students and staff.Mask up!
To help reduce the spread of COVID-19, it is essential that all students and staff wear face coverings at all teaching and learning events, in all the Libraries and in internal public spaces on campus. See our video here.Be smart. Stand apart. Bí cliste. Fan amach ó dhaoine.
Please remember to socially distance while on campus. Don’t wait around indoors, arrive on time for a lecture/laboratory session etc and leave once it ends.Length of teaching and learning activities
This is a reminder that teaching and learning activities should cease at 10 minutes to the hour for one-hour activities, or 15 minutes to the hour for two- or three-hour activities. This is especially important for face-to-face activities, to allow students time to leave the venue in a safe fashion and get to their next event, and for cleaning in between activities, where that is required. But the same guidelines should be applied for online activities, to give students a reasonable period in which to prepare for their next event.
Stay safe. Stay well. Bígí slán agus sábháilte.
Kind regards,
