NB * Students must take both HAU22009 and HAU22010.
In advance of the trip students are expected to identify a topic for a research and complete a project on a relevant artwork, building or landscape. During the visit students participate in a range of staff-guided and self-managed visit options, including architectural/urban studies, visits to permanent galleries/museums and temporary exhibitions. Together with their projects, students are required to prepare for the visit element of the trip by completing prescribed reading, and preparing a presentation to be given during the visit.
Please note that the trip has a cost element attached, which must be borne by the student.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon the successful completion of this module students should be able to:
- Further develop and apply research skills in real world environments
- conduct self-directed study leading to on-site oral presentation
- Construct an in depth knowledge of the art and architecture of a European city
- Present and discuss a clearly defined art historical subject in that city
