JAMES (JIM) HARRIS SIMONS. 1938-2024It is with great sadness that the Hamilton Mathematics Institute (HMI) announces that Jim Simons, an award-winning mathematician and co-founder and chair emeritus of the Simons Foundation, passed away on May 10, 2024. Jim was a long-time friend and supporter of the HMI. In June 2018 he was awarded an honorary degree of the University of Dublin.
