SER Launch
The Launch of the Student Economic Review 2014 took place on Tuesday the 25th of March in the GMB. Despite the adverse weather on the evening, the chamber was full on the night with contributors and their families, the committee and the staff and friends of the Economics department in attendance. Our privileged guests on the evening were the President of the Student Economic Review, Professor John O'Hagan, our guest speaker, Anke Heydenreich, and Provost of the college, Dr. Patrick Prendergast.
We were privileged to host Ms. Heydenreich, Director of Attestor Capital LLP a private hedge fund based in London, and a former Launch Manager of the SER, as our keynote speaker for the night. She presented us with an outline of her career path and the motivations behind it, since her own time at Trinity, in her speech which was inspiring for all in the audience.
Following a fantastic overview of the essays in the Review, our Editor Feidhlim McGowan presented the awards for Best Freshman Essay, Best International Essay and Best Overall essay to William Foley, Catalina De Sota and Sean Tong respectively. A very enjoyable reception followed for the continued celebration of the Review and its contributors and all the people involved in making this year such a successful one.
