Research Profile:
Zhiran Wang graduated with a Masters’ degree in Molecular Medicine at TCD in 2020 and has a degree in Medical laboratory Science from Hubei University of Chinese Medicine. She has experience in handling and processing human blood samples while working in a clinical laboratory in Wuhan. She recently joined Prof. Aideen Long and Prof. Ross McManus groups as a research assistant.
COVID-19 Project:
Zhiran is working alongside Nicole Wood and Sinead Moynihan to process SARS-COV2 infected blood samples for the St. James’ Tallaght University Hospital Trinity Alliance for Research (STTAR) biorepository. Zhiran will also assist Professor Ross McManus and Professor Aideen Long on the ROI-NI funded COVRES project, the primary focus of which is to study whether there are any host genetic links to response to infection with SARS-CoV-2.
