Botany & Environmental Sciences undergraduate field trip.
23 September 2010
Junior Sophister (3rd year) Botany and Environmental Sciences students began their Moderatorship programmes with a field trip this week. Starting at the TCD Botanic Gardens on Monday, and moving on to Liffey Head Bog on Tuesday, Glendalough woods on Wednesday, Avoca mines on Thursday and Bull Island on Friday, the trip provided students with an introduction to local wildlife and habitats as well as experience in field sampling and data collection. In addition, the field trip gave students the opportunity to start to investigate how human activities affect these ecosystems and think about implications for management and conservation.
