Former Botany graduate appointed President of the Missouri Botanical Garden
Former Botany graduate, Dr. Peter Wyse Jackson has been appointed to the exceptionally prestigious post of President of the Missouri Botanical Garden. A former student of the Botany Department in TCD from which he graduated with a BA (mod) and subsequently a Ph.D. in plant systematics in 1983 he then went on to run the Trinity College Botanic Gardens and then to serve as Secretary General for the Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) organisation. He was appointed Director of the National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin in 2005.
