The latest edition of the textbook Water Technology: An introduction for Environmental Scientists and Engineers (740pp)written by Professor Nick Gray of the Centre for the Environment in the School of Natural Sciences has just been released. Co-published by Butterworth-Heinemann and IWA Publishing the new third edition has been extensively updated and expanded, and is supported by a dedicated website and blog: www.irelandswater.com. The book is also available on-line.
Water science and technology is one of the world’s largest and most interdisciplinary industries employing a wide range of scientists and engineers, as well as computer specialists and a range of different management professionals. The text provides a complete introduction to all aspects of managing the hydrological cycle and is specifically aimed at those interested in a career in the water industry. This popular textbook has been adopted as a course text in universities all over the world and is also available in Russian. This is the third book written by Prof. Gray in recent years the others being Drinking Water Quality: Problems and Solutions (Cambridge University Press: 2008) and Biology of Wastewater Treatment (Imperial College Press: 2005).
