About our research interests
The gut, liver and uterus are sites of intense immunological activity even when healthy. In these organs, harmless foreign antigens of commensal and foetal origin require tolerance while at the same time, effective tumour and pathogen surveillance must be maintained. The Comparative Immunology Group (CIG) studies immune responses within these different organs in both humans and mammals. Our studies investigate genes, molecules and mechanisms of the innate immune system with the aim of gaining novel insights into immune processes.
