School Research Day 2024
Friday, 6 December 2024
The School community gathered in TBSI for a Research Day, to celebrate successes in research in the school and further foster internal collaboration. The Dean of Research launched the symposium, and most of the School faculty (principal investigators) gave an overview of their research. The Head of School shared some encouraging metrics, including that the School has taken in €22m in research funding for TCD in the past 3 years, and published 630 papers since 2019, with a field weighted citation impact of 2.70 (almost three times the world average). These papers were co-authored with researchers from over 77 countries worldwide. Further, 30% of papers published in 2024 were in journals with an impact factor greater or equal to 10. The research day showcased the diverse research within the school, with many PIs collaborating across the school disciplines of biochemistry, immunology and neuroscience. We ended the day with a reception in TBSI, photos below. Thanks to everyone who contributed to, and presented at, the day.
